We believe that youth are inherently powerful and their voices should be uplifted as often as possible. In service of this value, MGRC has extended our programming to cultivate a space for young people to bloom and grow together and to take their turn at the mic!

MGRC YOUTH OPEN MIC, at Gramps in Wynwood (176 NW 24th St), is hosted bi-monthly by Raffa Jo Harris of the long-running and influential Rock a Little Softer Open Mic. The event is free and open to the public. We invite music, poetry, comedy, storytelling, or any format that youth choose to express themselves! 

We invite all young people to sign up to share their talents, workshop new material, network, build community, and soak up the authentically supportive MGRC community magic. While our focus has historically been on uplifting girls and nonbinary youth through music, our Youth Open Mic welcomes all young people under 25 (and any accompanying adults) and all forms of self-expression.
